Pray On

Started the year with a sermon on prayer Sunday. We normally have a period of fasting and prayer closer to Pentecost Sunday, but prayer is always a good way to start the year. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, so let's ask God to breathe freshness and life into our prayers in 2008. My favorite part of the day was Sunday night when we prayed through the Lord's Prayer for half an hour. What a great way to get ready for the week!

Some of you have been following the events in Kenya. Here's another update from our missionaries.

Be Refreshed!

Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 8:10-11 10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, 11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Scripture of the Day: Matthew 26:40-41 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. 41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

Quote of the Day: I have seen many men work without praying, though I have never seen any good come out of it; but I have never seen a man pray without working. Hudson Taylor
