I received an e-mail yesterday from one of the missionaries our church supports and he had a great tag line on the end. It read, "Not just Pity but Prayer, Not Indifference but Involvement, Not Surplus but Sacrifice." What a great challenge in just a few words. Do we just admire or feel bad for our missionaries who leave it all behind to serve God or do we join them on the front lines with prayer? Do we forget about them after they leave the states or do we stayed involved and engaged? Do we really sacrifice for the Kingdom of God or do we just wait and see what we have left over after we've fully satisfied ourselves? Make that challenge part of your meditation this week.
We had a beautiful night last night for the youth hayride. Beautiful dark blue skies, thousands of stars, and not a cloud in the sky. The temp was in the upper 40's, so just cool enough to stay close to the fire but not freeze either. Don't forget our all church hayride next Saturday at 5:30. It's a great way to get together with the Bethel family and celebrate the harvest and God's faithfulness.
Be Refreshed!
Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 10:19 When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.
Scripture of the Day: Philemon 1:4-7 4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. 6 I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.
Quote of the Day: "If a fellow isn't thankful for what he's got, he isn't likely to be thankful for what he's going to get." Frank A. Clark
