Down East Up North

We headed up north to Packer-land today with the Sr Saints for lunch and a concert with The Down East Boys. I grew up on southern gospel quartet music and enjoyed the day just as much as the saints. Several times a year when I was a kid The Florida Boys, The Thrasher Brothers, or another group would come to town and the family would head in for the concert. Mom and dad probably still have a stack of LP's from the good old days around somewhere.

We averted a tragedy just before the concert when Danny tried to join the Red Hat Society. Fortunately I was there to intervene and whisk him away before he signed up.

Be Refreshed!

Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 3:5 The wise inherit honor, but fools he holds up to shame.

Scripture of the Day: Psalm 27:6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.

Quote of the Day: "If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don't like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself." St Augustine
