Jump City

Summer officially started at our house today when we got the trampoline tarp back from being resewn and the kiddie pool was inflated and filled. I challenged you a month or so ago to make this your best summer ever by taking time with family and friends to build some memories. Right now I'm blogging from the deck, the kids are in the yard jumping and throwing balls at each other, it's 72 degrees, the tiki torches are fired up, and the Cubs are on the radio up 5-3 in the 5th. Outside of the Spirit of God, it doesn't get much better than this.

Ride a bike, visit a shut-in, go for a walk, fire up the grill, go watch a little league game even though you don't know who's playing, catch a free concert in the park, plant a garden, invite friends over, play a game, get out of the house, etc. Don't wait till September and bemoan the passing of another summer.

Be Refreshed!

Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 11:7 The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.

Scripture of the Day: Philippians 2:14-16 14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16 as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.

Quote of the Day: The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had. ~Author Unknown
