A Josiah Heart

-At age 8 Josiah's father is murdered
-His grandfather the king was more wicked than the pagans they had driven out of the land.
-The temple is in shambles and full of pagan altars.
-They've lost the Book of the Law.

Imagine the stories he had for his therapist. But young Josiah turns his heart to God and begins to seek Him. He repairs the temple, tears down the idolatrous altars and poles, and the Book of the Law is rediscovered. Repentance breaks out in the nation and judgment is held off.

Josiah had a load of excuses of why it wasn't his fault. Blame dad. Blame the grandfather. Blame the priests. Blame the people who killed my dad. Blame the people. But Josiah turns his heart toward God, the Word of God is rediscovered, and revival breaks out in the nation.

It's easy to find plenty of people to blame for the nation's moral condition. The media. The politicians. Our parents. Our kids. Technology. The educational system. But no matter the conditions, God always has His eye out for men and women who are hungry for Him. He's looking for Josiah hearts who will turn to Him and do the right thing. So as we move into summer here's a good of place to start. Rediscover the Word of God, repent, clean house, and do the right thing.

Be Refreshed!

Scripture of the Day: 2 Kings 23:25 Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the LORD as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.
