With the impending ice storms, just about everything is canceled today. That's the bummer of homeschooling and laptop computers, snow days just aren't the same. Although when we got that nice snow last week Sonya and our kids were out on the slopes at Russell Woods while all the "traditional students" were at their desks.
We had a great weekend! The weather was mediocre, but the kids put on an awesome children's musical at church. I know when your kids are involved they are always good, but this really was one of the best I've ever seen. Probably the best.
Sunday morning we looked at the wiseman and talked about The Best Christmas Ever. It's all about what you seek (worship the King) and what you give (yourself). Those will never disappoint.
The bride of my youth celebrated her birthday yesterday. I'm still the best gift she's ever received. She is more beautiful every year. It was this time of year 19 years ago that I was out shopping for engagement rings. I am blessed.
Tradition of the Day: We have an advent calender we do each night as a family before we go to bed. It has a Scripture for each day that walks us through the Christmas story. It's a nice daily reminder of what it's all about and it helps us to end each day on course.
Be Refreshed!
Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 11:16 A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth.
Scripture of the Day: Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.
Quote of the Day: Let us remember that the Christmas heart is a giving heart, a wide open heart that thinks of others first. The birth of the baby Jesus stands as the most significant event in all history, because it has meant the pouring into a sick world the healing medicine of love which has transformed all manner of hearts for almost two thousand years... Underneath all the bulging bundles is this beating Christmas heart. George Matthew Adams
