Influence

Today was week four of our fall series on God's Eternal Blueprint for His church. Today was INFLUENCE. The early church was a group of common ordinary men and women, yet they turned the world upside down. From the bottom to the top of their society, everyone took notice. I love the quote from Acts 4:13 "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus." Influence.

A great day with my Bethel family too. They had a reception for us for Pastor Appreciation Day after the service. They also gave us a gift of having all our new doors and trim stained for us as we finish up our remodeling. That may sound like an odd gift, but we think it's an awesome gift!

Then we finished the day with our Suppers for Eight group. Meeting in a home, breaking bread, enjoying the fellowship of the saints, and ministering one to another. Almost sounds like a blueprint for God's church:)

Be Refreshed!

Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 14:26 "He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge."

Scripture of the Day: Acts 5:13-14 "No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people. Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number."

Quote of the Day: "The authority by which the Christian leader leads is not power but love, not force but example, not coercion but reasoned persuasion. Leaders have power, but power is safe only in the hands of those who humble themselves to serve." John Stott
