Part of the challenge for the youth tonight was brokenness from the story of the alabaster jar (Mark 14). The perfume inside was worth over a year's wages, and yet she broke the jar as she anointed Jesus with the perfume. Too often we crack open the lid of our lives a tiny bit and slowly parcel out what we feel comfortable with while we keep control of the rest. But true worship comes as we are broken before God and allow him to have it all.
Once the alabaster jar was broken, there was no keeping anything back. She was now fully committed. No half and half. No turning back. It's all His.
We also need to be fully broken. Fully Committed. No half and half. No turning back. All His.
Be Refreshed!
Proverb of the Day: Proverb 24:26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
Scripture of the Day: 1 Kings 18:21 Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him." But the people said nothing.
Quote of the Day: Before we can begin to see the cross as something done for us, we have to see it as something done by us. John Stott
