New Life
A couple Sundays ago there was an article in Today's Pentecostal Evangel about one of the guys I played basketball with at Central Bible College.
Jimmy Jack was a strung out drug addict, thief, and tough Italian guy on the streets of New York till God miraculously set him free. He then entered Teen Challenge and eventually came to Central Bible College. He then returned and started a Teen Challenge Center on Long Island. He used to tell us stories on some of those long road trips, but it was so hard to believe because we only knew of the NEW Jimmy Jack. Later he was in Sonya's and my wedding.
I had put the article on my desk to read later and just got back to it today. It contained an excerpt from his new autobiography so I was trying to track it down on-line to order a copy for myself. I couldn't find it so I eventually gave up. Several minutes later I opened a box I thought was from Chicago Teen Challenge about their upcoming banquet. It was really from Jimmy and the Long Island Teen Challenge and contained a copy of the book! Cool God. A mailing label had partially covered the name.

Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding
Scripture of the Day: 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Quote of the Day: When I got up from that place of prayer, I felt like my sins, bondage and all my vices stayed in that chair. I was free. I knew instantly that I was a new creation. I was forgiven. All the men stood in a circle holding hands and praying. I was filthy, stinking like a gin mill and wearing grimy, ripped-up pants and clothes, but for the first time in my life I realized I was clean — really clean. Jimmy Jack, I Can Dream Again
