Thanks to all of our workers this week as we makeover the church this summer. There will be lots of opportunities to be blessed this year so keep your ears open. The kids were doing a work-a-thon to raise money for camp this last weekend and one of the girls (age 8) commented after she'd been scraping glue off a wall for about 45 minutes, "This is fun!" For the first time in over 12 years you can walk up the back stairway off the old basement without stepping over something. Great work kids!
Don't miss all the fun this summer!
Today is Earth Day 2008. I'll avoid the debates and propaganda, but will say, "What an Awesome God!" I haven't seen the intelligent design documentary "Expelled" yet but Ethan and some of his friends went and saw it Friday night. The incredible intricacy and wonder of creation brings glory to our God. So be a good steward of the creation but worship the Creator today. Hug a tree and say "Awesome God!"
Be Refreshed!
Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 22:12 The eyes of the LORD keep watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
Scripture of the Day: Romans 1:18-25 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Quote of the Day: "If one starts with an impersonal beginning, the answer to morals eventually turns out to be the assertion that there are no morals." Francis Schaeffer
